An event calendar that could not wait

A speaker confirmation could arrive while the next sponsor announcement was already due. NKST brings cybersecurity companies and professionals together at events across Canada, and its digital presence had to follow the pace of that work.

The team had struggled with agencies that could not keep up. Delays in writing or design left NKST waiting for material it needed to publish. The brief for Digital Osmos was practical: take responsibility for the social channels and produce the work as the event calendar moved.

One team took responsibility for the socials

We worked with NKST from February to December 2024. Social media strategy came first, followed by day-to-day content writing, design and publishing. Live event updates and offline design support for the venue were part of the engagement.

This put the plan and its execution with the same team. A confirmed speaker or sponsor could become a written announcement and a finished creative, then move onto the relevant channel.

01 / THE CHANNEL STRATEGY

LinkedIn led the conversation

We chose LinkedIn as the primary channel because NKST needed to reach cybersecurity professionals and the companies taking part in its events. The social media strategy gave the programme a regular presence there, with speaker introductions and sponsor announcements connected to the event people could attend.

Meta supported that activity. It gave the event material another place to be seen while LinkedIn remained the centre of the professional conversation. Each channel had a role in the plan; the team could put its attention where the audience and the announcement belonged.

02 / CONTENT & CAMPAIGN DESIGN

The next announcement was always close

We wrote social media content and designed the material needed for speaker and sponsor announcements. The creative had to make the essential information easy to find: who was involved, what the session covered and where the event was happening.

The Healthcare Security & Risk Summit (HSRS) 2024 was a flagship campaign within that work. NKST’s original keynote announcement records the summit on May 22, 2024 at MaRS Discovery District, Toronto. The published creative below shows the event identity and speaker information together.

03 / LIVE COVERAGE & VENUE SUPPORT

Publishing continued while the event unfolded

During busy periods, we sometimes published three to four posts a day. Live updates joined the planned announcements, so the channels could reflect what was happening at the event rather than wait for a later recap.

The work also extended to offline design support for the venue. Social content and event materials were handled within the same engagement, giving NKST support wherever a creative was needed.

Updates from the event and post-event material kept the channels active beyond the registration build-up. NKST’s published HSRS 2024 coverage gives a record of the summit this work supported.

04 / THE OUTCOMES

WHAT CHANGED

Project-reported outcomes for the February–December 2024 engagement. The events we supported sold out, alongside a publishing pace that matched the calendar. These are not presented as ticket-sale attribution to social media alone.

01

Sold-out events

NKST’s supported events sold out during the engagement, as reported in the project brief. Social marketing supported the wider event effort.

02

3–4 posts on busy days

At peak periods, publishing reached three to four posts a day, including speaker and sponsor announcements and live updates.

03

Digital and venue support

One team handled the social strategy, writing, campaign design, publishing and offline creative support for event venues.
