Insights / Texas & TEFA

Prepare your website and team for TEFA questions

Before promoting TEFA, confirm the school’s participation wording, identify every place it appears and test the journey from a post or page to the right contact. Give each claim a source and each inquiry a responsible person. This checklist helps your team prepare the website and social channels without implying an eligibility or funding decision.

Digital Osmos is an independent marketing company, unaffiliated with TEFA. Official sources were checked October 17, 2026. Use the state’s school guidance and family guidance for program requirements and decisions.

Start with the school’s actual status

The official schools page describes rolling provider applications and separate requirements for private schools and pre-K or kindergarten providers. Have the authorized school contact confirm the record and the exact scope of any participation statement. Do not assume that another campus or age group has the same status.

If a statement is not yet supported, keep it out of the campaign. The website can continue to explain ordinary programs, hours, fees and visits. A marketing team should not resolve an uncertain status through more confident wording.

Find every public version of the claim

Review the website, local profiles, social posts, advertisements, event pages and reusable admissions messages. Record where TEFA is mentioned and which version is maintained. Old images and scheduled posts need attention as well as live page text.

Keep funding dates separate from the school’s admission and event dates. Use the TEFA operator hub for current source links; an interest-list signup must not be described as an application or award.

Use a readiness worksheet

Checks before a TEFA-related campaign starts
Check Evidence Owner
Participation wording Exact statement, supporting record, campus and program Authorized school contact
Program information Current ages, schedules, fees and admission steps Admissions lead
State information Official destination, school year and checked date Content owner
Mobile journey Ad or profile link opens the correct page and working contact route Website owner
Response handling Named recipient, absence cover and escalation instructions Inquiry owner
Review Approved version, next review date and affected materials Named approver

This worksheet records communication readiness. It is not a provider approval checklist or a decision about a particular family. Keep those questions with the official program and the school’s authorized contact.

Test what a parent sees and what staff receive

Follow the actual profile or advertisement link on a phone. Check that the destination explains the right program and campus, offers useful ordinary admission information and labels official links clearly. Verify that the parent can distinguish requesting a school visit from applying to TEFA.

Use a controlled staff test to check the contact route. Confirm the destination inbox and the person responsible for a reply, and keep the test entry out of inquiry totals. Record an automatic acknowledgment separately from a staff response when reviewing what happened.

Prepare replies for the questions your school can answer

Staff can explain the school’s programs, schedules, fee information and admission process. Give them a route to the authorized contact for uncertain participation questions, and an official destination for family eligibility or award questions. Avoid automated replies that fill missing information with an unsupported answer.

Keep sensitive supporting documents out of ordinary marketing forms and advertising tools. Collect only what the school’s approved inquiry process needs to route the request. Tell families where an official application or support request belongs.

Keep the approved version current

When information changes, update the maintained page and the register of linked campaign materials. Check scheduled content before it publishes. Mark a source as unverified when the responsible person cannot confirm it, and pause the affected claim until it is reviewed.

Read the TEFA communications guide for the wider process. Enrollment websites and inquiry follow-up address different implementation tasks; the pricing page explains package limits and separately quoted work.
